Sounds like a good news? It has been forever since Google announced the Android@Home back in Google I/O conference in 2011. Finally, big brother is making a move to unite the home automation market. As reported by Pocket-lint, there are traces of config files in Android 4.2.2 revealed mesh networking innards, suggesting that Google may be reviving this project.
There’s been too many piecemeal products such as WeMo, iNest etc popping up in CES 2013. Hopefully we can see something concrete in Google I/O 2013! Deep down inside, I hope it is based on existing protocols (hint:Z-Wave) so that my investments are protected.
